Objectives

Tight turning geometry at the ramp entrances caused vehicles to strike the walls, creating safety issues and delays. The turning radius had to be increased by cutting back sections of the middle and side shear walls without compromising structural safety.

Post-tensioned slabs required tendon scanning before any cutting, and limited headroom restricted the available strengthening methods. The facility remained fully operational throughout, demanding careful phasing around vehicle access.

Solution

PME installed drop panels, beams and overlay slabs at the ramp areas, with structural propping and precise saw cutting of the existing shear walls to open up the turning radius. Protective coatings were applied to floors, walls and ceilings for long-term durability.

All works complied with ACI standards under rigorous quality control.
