Design, manufacture and installation of a durable, low-maintenance cladding and furniture solution around a set of X-ray baggage scanners. Key requirements:

Access for planned preventive maintenance and retrieval of fallen objects

Metal-free construction, due to adjacent walk-through metal detectors

Fire-rated, sturdy materials

Reversible cladding, allowing installation on either side of the machines

High-quality finish suited to the museum environment

Installation restricted to museum closing hours

PME installed drop panels, beams and overlay slabs at the ramp areas, with structural propping and precise saw cutting of the existing shear walls to open up the entrance turning radius. Protective coatings were applied to floors, walls and ceilings for long-term durability.

All works complied with ACI standards under rigorous quality control.
